Resourceful gardening and landscaping businesses know that grass-cutting and simultaneous mulching save work and money. However, not all mulching mowers are suitable for any vehicle. If you want to stay flexible, consider rear discharge mowers und the new "Mulch Star" built by Wiedenmann.

The key advantage of the rotary lawnmowers built by the swabian machinery manufacturer is that these all-purpose units are suitable for nearly any make of compact tractor and front mower. This is by no means a matter of course - some suppliers offer only closed product families that are incompatible with other makes of vehicle. Then when it comes to replacing or upgrading equipment, the gardening and landscaping businesses are the ones who lose out.

This is not the case with turf care specialist Wiedenmann, whose recently premiered advancement "MULCH STAR" replaces the well-known "RECYCLE CUT" for mowing decks. Simultaneous mowing and mulching are now made even more efficient.

With the ingenious crosswise distribution of the grass cuttings in the mower, the new mulching unit not only produces much better results. Its increased workrate also makes for higher travel speeds. This can be attributed, among other things, to the completely redesigned baffle plates that control internal grass transport to and from the three cutting blades. Special emphasis was placed on the design of an air circulation system that prevents clogging even with dense grass growth. Mulching intensity can be adjusted to meet your specific mowing requirements by means of vertically adjustable flaps. The result is a cleaner cut in less time.

Wiedenmann uses rear discharge mowers for combined mowing and mulching: a solution that not only engineers prefer. The cuttings are literally pulverised and the fine particles are discharged into the greensward where they practically vanish from the surface.

By saving on mulching, you are not doing yourself any favours: the long clippings of the mowed grass would lie on top and have to be collected, transported away and disposed of. Nature benefits, too: the grass particles are mineralized by the natural process of decomposition and returned to the biological cycle in the form of lawn fertilizer. This reduces the demand for mineral fertilizer to a minimum. Mulching is a blessing for soil organisms: it preserves their vitality, thus improving soil fertility and plant health. Mulching equipment is therefore a must for the cost-conscious gardening business and lawn operator alike.

Wiedenmann´s new "MULCH STAR" makes professional turf care even more efficient. Optimal crosswise distribution between the rotary blades: the grass is cut several times, with the result that long clippings vanish into the greensward as very fine particles
